Employees Volunteer at the Tennessee Special Olympics Summer Games

In May 2014, Dollar General employees from the Store Support Center (SSC) volunteered to cheer on the athletes of Tennessee’s Special Olympics Summer Games during the Olympic-style Opening Ceremony at Lipscomb's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

In May 2014, Dollar General employees from the Store Support Center (SSC) volunteered to cheer on the athletes of Tennessee’s Special Olympics Summer Games during the Olympic-style Opening Ceremony at Lipscomb's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The following day, additional DG volunteers assisted athletes as they competed in Track and Bocce. Tennessee’s Special Olympics Summer Games hosts over 1,000 athletes competing in track and  field, aquatics, bocce,  powerlifting, tennis, and volleyball.

Dollar General’s Builds Home for Family in Need

In May 2014, Dollar General employees from the Store Support Center (SSC) volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home. 

In May 2014, Dollar General employees from the Store Support Center (SSC) volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home. 120 DG volunteers divided into 6 teams to build a house from the foundation up, including landscaping, in just 5 1/2 days.

Dollar General’s Women’s Professional Network

In March 2014, Dollar General’s Women’s Professional Network (WPN) volunteered to paint the Dress for Success Nashville building to help benefit the YWCA in Middle Tenn.

The mission of the WPN is to elevate and empower women by providing personal and professional opportunities for growth and advancement through networking, leadership opportunities and educational experiences.

In March 2014, Dollar General’s Women’s Professional Network (WPN) volunteered to paint the Dress for Success Nashville building to help benefit the YWCA in Middle Tenn.

The mission of the WPN is to elevate and empower women by providing personal and professional opportunities for growth and advancement through networking, leadership opportunities and educational experiences.

The Dress for Success Nashville facility serves disadvantaged women in the Nashville area as they transition to the workforce.  Clients are provided an interview suit, career resources and other support to confidently enter the interview process. Once employment is secured, the client is provided additional clothing appropriate for her place of work.
